Dr. Wierick was the zookeeper at Sunnydale Zoo. He pretended to help Giles in 1.06 The Pack after some students become possessed by hyenas at the zoo. Instead he planned to gain the power from the students and use it for himself. His plan backfired when he fell into the hyena cage and was killed.

I think the zookeeper was in fact named Dr. Wierick, which can be seen if you zoom in on his name badge in his first seen. It’s also been mentioned in a guide or script somewhere, I think.
