In 4.08 Pangs, Spike goes to the Scoobies for help after the Initiative chipped him. They tie him up and later question him as to what he knows about the Initiative (seen in 4.09 Something Blue). Spike then lives with Giles for some time, and stays with Xander (4.10 Hush, 4.11 Doomed) before moving into his own place in 4.12 A New Man. It’s all very buddy-movie-tastic.

Ok, who else is not diggin the black eye shadow in his picture here?

Damn good question. It works in making him look more dead than usual though, which I guess was the point (since as he was suffering from lack of blood).

What I hate is that the red shirt (which can barely be seen in the above picture) is about to go away at this point. (sob, sob)

Re: the black eye shadow. It mde him looks paler too, but he was probably putting on whiter makeup to do that. (For Halloween, I dressed up as some random vampire victim. I had the bitemarks and everything but I put on a LOT of the palest foundation I could find. It was really creepy.)

Sounds like fun MagicBone!
Quickly going back to the red shirt thing, what does everyone think about it disappearing for no apparent reason?

I assume that the red shirt went away because they wanted Spike to go to the all black look which they must have thought made him look cooler or something.

Maybe he shrunk it with the rest of his clothes… (smirk) And I think that the black eye shadow is a remnant of his wasted appearance in Pangs.
It may also be a way to show that vampires have a slightly different appearance than living humans. As soon as he turns to Angelus, David Boreanaz starts wearing the same type of makeup, maybe to emphacise the “dark” attitude.

Oh God ! I’ve just watched ‘Something Blue’ and something went in my mind.
What if Spike has the Stockholm syndrome ? That could be one of the reasons of Spike’s love for Buffy ! I know that in ‘Fool For Love’ we learn that he’s already in love, unconsciously, with her in the end of season two. But still.
Hmm, that’s my theory !
HarFang on May 12th, 2008 at 11:06 pm
Ah ah ! That’s a good theory I think !
Besides, isn’t “catching, tying up and beating” exactly what he wanted to do to Dru to seduce her ? Funny, that he would find himself on the receiving end of that treatment…
Personnally, I tend to agree with Buffy that he fell in love with her because she hit him a lot. Unsouled Spike “loved women who hurt him”.
