In the commentary for 5.01 Conviction, Joss explains how Alexis was suffering from Bell’s Palsy during the shoot. It effected the left side of his face. Due to it being more noticeable while he spoke, Joss shot him from his right profile.
Bells Palsy is a condition that causes the facial muscles to weaken or become paralyzed. It involves facial drooping or inability to move the face. It is not permanent. For more information, visit the Bell’s Palsy information site.
