Spike gets a mannequin from the Sunnydale rubbish dump in 5.03 The Replacement and later pretends it’s Buffy, a sure sign of his obsession with her. In 5.11 Triangle he practises giving a speech and some chocolates to Buffy using the mannequin, to apologise for taking Buffy to see Riley at the vampire den.

I laughed so much during this scene, it was brilliant.

Just rewatched this episode yesterday, and I gotta say, I stand by my previous statement, haha! I know the comedy in this episode is largely provided by Anya and Willow (and rightly so) but this scene deserves a mention because it’s so amusing.
I love how Spike just KNOWS that Buffy would get pissed at him while he’s trying to apologise, and even though the conversation isn’t real, still reacts in a real enough way, by getting annoyed himself and beating up the dummy. It’s hysterical!

it is even funnier, and perhaps a little bit sad and william-like, that he picks up the chocolates, rearranges the misplaced ones gently, and starts again….. :)

That scene has to be the best in the episode. It is just so funny.

I agree both with the “funny” and with the “little bit sad” parts. That episode really shows that Spike really tries to remember how humans act in normal society. But either he fails, or people just ignore his efforts. I always feel kind of sorry for him, even though that mannequin freaks me out most of the time. (The Buffybot doesn’t, which is totally illogical … but it’s too lovely and funny to freak me out).
And the funniest scene in that episode, for me, is in the Bronze, when Spike acts like he’s protecting Buffy while actually he’s almost pawing her !
