Xander saved Buffy’s life by giving her CPR after she drowned in 1.12 Prophecy Girl. He helped to bring her back from the dead again in 6.01 Bargaining (Part One). In season seven’s 7.21 End Of Days he tells Buffy that if she dies again he’ll bring her back. “It’s what I do”.
