Willow appears in L.A. at the end of the Angel episode 2.22 There’s No Place Like Plrtz Glrb to inform Angel that Buffy had died - seen in 5.22 The Gift. Angel realises why she’s there as soon as he says her, saying, “It’s Buffy”.

Willow doesn’t say it, it’s actually Angel. The gang enter the lobby of the hotel and see Willow sitting on the sofa. She stands up, they’re all confused and like “what’s going on?” and as Willow’s staring at him, Angel realises and says “it’s Buffy” before the episode end. What a moment.

I cried when I saw this scene. So much was conveyed in just one look between two characters. What amazing acting. It’s one of the best season endings ever.

Honestly, I’m not a fan of this at all. I don’t like to see the efforts at making the shows seem like one (like lame crossovers such as ‘I Will Remember You’ and ‘Darla’, as well as the painful mention of what was going on over on Angel in ‘Crush’). I really prefer to see a lot of seperation between the shows, so things such as this scene and this story don’t seem right. I would much rather wonder how Angel dealt with it, rather than see it played out the way that it was on both shows.

I just wanted to add that in Bargaining, seqentially the episode after There’s No Place Like Plrtz Glrb, this same line is repeated.
When imploring Anya, Xander and Tara to go through with the spell to bring Buffy back, Willow pleadingly reminds them, “…it’s Buffy.”

I like the crossovers. It shows that the Buffy/Angel world is one. Buffy was very important for the person Angel and the show Angel, so for me it just seems a right thing to do.
And…more Willow, what could be wrong with that!

As for Angel guessing that “it’s Buffy”, why else would Willow be sitting there with such a face ? I must say it’s a nice reminder of how the two series are linked, and it conveniently allows the season to end on a gloomy note. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been Angel !
