Faith says in 7.18 Dirty Girls that the last movie she saw in prison was Glitter. The movie was made in 2001 and starred Mariah Carey. It was a huge flop.

In the French version this reference is replaced by the movie ‘Gone with the Wind’ .

Yet another puzzling decision. It’s not like Glitter didn’t come out in France after all. I guess the translator was afraid that people wouldn’t get Faith’s comment that “it couldn’t have been worse”, so he decided to make her point VERY obvious…
And besides, “Gone with the Wind” is much longer to say than “Glitter” (especially in French), so part of the dialogue must have been deleted to make up for the extra syllables. Now, I can accept that some puns are lost in translation, but WHY should we lose the rest of this great text ??
