Angel says to Connor in 4.01 Deep Down:
“What you did to me - was unbelievable, Connor. - But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so three months under the ocean actually gave me perspective.”
He’s referring to the Buffy episode Becoming, Part Two, in which Buffy was forced to send him to hell in order to save the world.

I’ve been recently thinking about Angel’s age. Since he was in the Hell dimension, isn’t he a lot older. Was he there for 100 years, or was that just a number he threw out???

Even if he did live 100 years in the Hell dimension, that’s 100 years there, not necessarily so long in our dimension.

True… it was merely a few months. But would he feel a hundred years older?!?!
After all those years, you probably start forgetting your age. Hell, I’m 27 and constantly forget and think I’m older! *lol*

Yeah, I’m guessing once you’ve passed 200, it’s all the same to you. Except wasn’t there that time that Angel took great offense to someone thinking he was over 200? Silly boy.

Hey, he also took offense at being called a child once -by the Mayor I think. And actually he’s always very precise when he gives his age.
And since I guess his stay in Hell is a part of his (un)life he would rather forget, it seems logical that he would not take it into account. Buffy doesn’t count the time she spent in Heaven either, even though it felt longer than 147 days to her.
