Oh man, the whole Mayor and Faith thing is just one of the most mindblowing things in my opinion. Faith, morally, is kind of in limbo, she has her ups and downs. When her moral compass goes kablooey in Bad Girls and she turns to the Mayor and he treats her well, her moral compass falls over to the side of evil to make him happy because he’s the only one who ever gave her that kind of familial love she never had. As far as characterization goes, it’s just amazing.
