Buffy wakes up alone after a night of sex for the second time in 4.03 The Harsh Light Of Day. The first was in 2.14 Innocence, when Angel was busy somewhere else turning into an evil vampire. Buffy later asks if all men she sleeps with will turn evil.

It was a nice touch that, the morning after she sleeps with Riley, the first thing Buffy does is check that he’s still here ! “I never know what to expect”, she says when he comments on it. Really quite understandable !
