In 2.08 The Dark Age, Xander says:
“No one can be wound as straight narrow as Giles without a dark side erupting.”
This can also be applied to (early) Willow in a way. She is so shy, and up-tight, but eventually tries to end the world in the episode 6.22 Grave.
