Cordy’s parents

The first and only time we see Cordelia’s parents is in 4.05 Supersymmetry. They can be seen in one of the pictures that Cordelia hangs up to help her remember who is who.
Dark Horse Comics

The Jonathan comic books in 4.17 Superstar were made by Dark Horse comics, the same company that makes the Buffy and Angel comics. In 4.05 Supersymmetry, Gunn slams the comic shop clerk into a rack holding Dark Horse comics.
Fred’s major
details | 2 comments | suggested by Meghann
The following is from 4.05 Supersymmetry:
Fred: “I was gonna be a history major, and then I took Professor Seidel’s physics class, and, well…”
Seidel: “Winifred is a natural. By the end of the first semester she was taking on w.i.m.p.s.”
Then from 5.15 A Hole In The World:
Fred: “It’s Los Angeles, the 1.01 City of, remember?”
Mr Burkle: “And if you meet one angel there, I’ll eat the dogs. A bunch of junkies and spoiled movie actors—that’s who you’re gonna meet.”
Fred: “In the graduate physics program at UCLA?”
Either Fred visited LA to take Professor Seidel’s class or he was a visiting lecturer while she was in Texas.
Jolly Green Giant

The following is from 4.05 Supersymmetry:
Lilah to Angel: “Hey, if this is about the jolly green demon— I could’ve had him killed, but do I hear a ‘thank you’?”
This is a reference to the Jolly Green Giant food company’s mascot.
Killing the professor

Sarah Fain and Elizabeth Craft, who co-wrote the episode 4.05 Supersymmetry, spoke to City of Angel about their view of the episode:
“Breaking it was torture! It ended up Joss and Tim broke it. Gunn killing the professor was from Tim.” Sarah adds, “One of my personal pet peeves of what often happens to Fred is when she loses her agency and somebody else comes in and rescues her. As much as I loved the twist with Gunn at the end of 4.05 Supersymmetry, I also wanted Fred to be the one to kill the guy. It was her decision and I felt like it was kind of taken from her. It was great drama though.” Liz continues, “It worked for me because we made an issue that Gunn took it from her. So, I felt like that was ok. Overall, we were very pleased with how it came out. It really took Fred and Gunn’s relationship to a whole new level.”
Lose you

In 3.21 Graduation Day (Part One) when Buffy wants to kill Faith, Xander says to her:
“I just don’t want to lose you.”
This is echoed later by Gunn when Fred wants to kill Professor Seidel in 4.05 Supersymmetry. Gunn says:
“If you kill him, I’m gonna lose you.”
P-Diddy clothing

In 4.05 Supersymmetry, Gunn is wearing a “Sean John” t-shirt. This is part of the clothing range by rapper Sean “P-Diddy” Combs.
Professor Oliver Seidel
details | 4 comments | suggested by Jess
Oliver Seidel was a noted Physics professor who first got Fred interested in the subject. He introduced his past student when she gave a presentation for the Physics Institute on 4.05 Supersymmetry. However, Fred discovered her idol was not all he seemed. Jealous of his gifted students, he had researched portals, and sent them into other dimensions - which was how Fred got to Pylea. Seidel died when Gunn snapped his neck and threw him into a portal that Fred had opened, in order to save Fred from murdering him herself.
[Goof] Ballet photo?
details | 1 comment | suggested by Jess
In 4.05 Supersymmetry, Cordelia hangs photos of friends and family on her wall as reminders of who’s who. One of the photos is of Fred and Gunn at the ballet in 3.13 Waiting In The Wings. The only problem is - who took the photo and when? The photo is taken from the seats in front of the pair, and Cordy and Angel were sat behind them. It’s also doubtful that they brought a camera to the ballet, and they certainly wouldn’t have been allowed to take photos during the performance. They definitely seem to be watching the ballet at the time the photo was taken.
