Billy was the nephew of Congressman Nathan Blim, with powerful people supporting him. He had the ability to draw male’s misogynistic feelings out through his touch or his blood. Billy took great pleasure in watching women get hurt. He was locked away in a hell dimension until Angel freed him in a deal with Lilah. He caused Wesley and Gunn to nearly kill Fred and unsuccessfully attempted to control Angel. After being hurt by his power, Lilah shot Billy at the airport as he tried to board a plane to Santa Monica in 3.06 Billy.

In 3.06 Billy, Cordelia says:

“No need, I got it. Three years of Varsity Cheer Squad, I only ever had to be shown a move once.”

We saw Cordy try out for the cheerleading squad in 1.03 The Witch. She must have stayed on the team until graduation.

The Shining

details | 8 comments | suggested by Jess

In 1.09 The Puppet Show, Xander holds up Sid the Dummy and says, “Redrum, Redrum”. Redrum is from Stephen King’s novel The Shining, and for those not in the know, it’s ‘murder’ spelt backwards. The Shining was made into a movie starring Jack Nicholson as Jack Torrance. In The Shining, the main character, Jack Torrance, writes the words “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” when he starts to go crazy from cabin fever.
In 2.19 I Only Have Eyes For You, Willow says:

“You’ve been doing that a lot. Patrolling and sacking. In fact, you’ve kind of been All-Work-And-No-Play Buffy.”

In 6.11 Gone, Buffy says:

“All work and no play makes Doris a dull girl”.

In 6.17 Normal Again, Jonathan says:

“I’m going all Jack Torrance here, you know?”.

In 2.02 Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been, Angel is staying in room 217 in the hotel. This is the same room number in The Shining in which young Danny Torrance finds a dead woman in the bathtub.
In 3.06 Billy, the scenes of Wesley chasing Fred through the hotel with an axe are reminiscent of the move version of The Shining, in which Jack Torrence does the same thing.

The Terminator

The Terminator

The conversation in 4.02 Living Conditions about Parker’s interest in Buffy, (Xander says “Hasta” and “Buffinator” and Oz says “He’ll be back”) is a reference to The Terminator movies, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed by James Cameron.
In 4.15 This Year’s Girl, Buffy called Adam:

“the Terminator without the bashful charm.”

In 2.01 When She Was Bad, Willow and Xander referenced the movie when playing “Guess the Movie”.
In 4.21 Primeval, Adam has an arm-gun (”I’ve been upgrading”). This is reminiscent of the gun the Terminator has in the movie trilogy.
In 6.06 All The Way, Janice calls her mother “The Mominator”.
In 3.06 Billy, Cordelia says,

“You can’t barge into a police precinct and go all Terminator.”

At one point in the original Terminator movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character drives into a police station and shoots up the place killing most of the police inside.

“Tell that to the Powers. They already ran the THX version in my head, remember?”
