Anagogic demons
details | add a comment | suggested by Jess
Hailing from the dimension of Pylea, Anagogic demons have distinctive green skin and small red horns protruding from the forehead. Known for their tracking and hunting skills they have the power to channel their mind to read the aura of other beings. Anagogics can survive decapitation as long as their body is not destroyed. Their ears are very sensitive to certain noises, including singing. Female Anagogic demons have excessive facial hair and deep voices. Their social and cultural beliefs are centered on family pride, honour, hunting, and battle. They perform many tribal dances, such as the Dance of Joy and the Dance of Shame.
The first Anagogic demon seen in Angel was the Host of demon karaoke bar Caritas, Lorne, who had escaped Pylea, claiming it was too dangerous and lacked music.

Foreshadowing Pylea
details | add a comment | suggested by Meghann
There is dialogue within 2.19 Belonging that seems to foreshadow events that occur while the gang is in Pylea. The first occurs when Angel visits Cordy on set of her commercial:
Cordy: “What are you doing here?”
Angel: “Getting a tan. Ha. Not bursting into flames?”
Upon reaching Pylea, Angel quickly learns that he is not effected negatively by the two Pylean suns.
Secondly, Cordy has the following exchange with the commercial’s director:
Cordy To the director: “Hi. I just wanna say thanks for casting me.”
Director: “You’re welcome. Lose the bathrobe.”
Cordy: “Excuse me?”
Director: “What’s wrong? You don’t speak English? The wardrobe. I need to see it. Lose the robe, princess.”
After having a vision and painful testing, Cordelia is crowned a princess in Pylea.
Thirdly, Angel vents about his encounter on the set with Cordy and her director:
Angel: “Mr. ‘Hey, I’m an L.A. director, you know, shooting a commercial so I must be the center of the universe’ guy? It’s just like, if you wanna make it in show business you just pretend you’re on the food chain. I mean, all we do is save the world. And the way he talks to her. It’s like she’s his commodity. Like she’s his slave or something. And you know what the worst part is? She took it. When was the last time Cordy took crap from any of us?”
Gunn: “Never. And the day after never.”
Angel: “Exactly! He’s also got her wearing this - flimsy swimsuit that covers like nothing.”
Before being crowned, Cordelia was sold and became a slave. However, once she becomes a princess, she sports a very skimpy outfit.

“This reading room - to die for. Raked stage, rocking chair, fabulous colours. I’m tempted to just show up tomorrow morning with Harry Potter”.
