The following is from 3.05 Homecoming:
Buffy: “I can’t believe it. My favorite teacher, and she didn’t even remember who I was. I’m like a non-person.” (to Oz) “Am I invisible?” (waves her hand in front of him) “Can you see me?”
Buffy’s rant stems from events within 1.11 Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight in which a student’s lack of acknowledgement by her teachers and peers caused her to become invisible.

It’s kind of a funny comment, considering she actually does become invisible in Gone. But it doesn’t bother her so much then!

I also like how when Buffy does become invisible Xander asks her if she has been feeling ‘ignored’ lately and she replies with how this ‘isn’t a Marcie deal’
