The episode 4.10 Hush sees the introduction of the Buffy/Riley theme tune, written by Christophe Beck. Joss mentioned in his DVD commentary that he prefers the Buffy/Riley theme to the Buffy/Angel theme as it’s more mature.

I agree ; it’s a wonderful theme, very soft and moving at the same time. Is it significant that there is no Buffy/Spike theme ?

It would be significant if there were not a Buffy/Spike theme, but there is. It’s called “Chosen”.
Now isn’t that interesting…?

Oh. Wow. It definitely is (and you just made my inner shipper veeery happy).
I see which one it is, and it holds its own quite well against the other themes.
Still, is there any clear indication that it is meant to be a Spike/Buffy theme? In my “complete BtVS soundtrack” package, “Chosen” is only associated with its namesake episode, so I assumed it was the theme for the final battle. Now I remember noticing that the same theme appeared several times before that when Buffy and Spike shared a scene (notably in Sleeper which I have just re-watched).

I watched “Sleeper” but I didn’t hear that “Chosen” anywhere. Which scene does it play in?
