i find that little piece of continuity to be a stroke of genius. it’s when you finally get that there’s no turning back from willow’s darkness. she won’t be persuaded by the ‘this isn’t you’ speach. she’s just as close to a soul-less monster as she’ll ever be, driven there by pain. and i think the line says something on the whole vampires and their former selves debate. like the fact that vamp-willow seemed to be gay… maybe nasty-willow, human or vampire, really likes this catch phrase. i don’t think she was trying to pun in that situation, and was just mimicking her alternate reality self. i thihk she was just in the ‘bored now’ mood. and that’s a baaaad mood to be in.

Another variation of that is when she says, “falling now” in Primeval. I also like her “I think I’m kinda gay” continuity from Doppleganger and then in Tabula Rasa.

The moment that she said “Bored now,” in Villians has long been one of my favorite moments of the series. What it meant (that she must be turning evil, though it didn’t seem possible) was such an awesome thing to see happening. Plus, I love contiuity moments more than about anything on any show, so it’s cool for that reason too.

This one line is what made me fall completely in love with the show. I’d only started watching at about Wrecked, so even though I wasn’t exactly sure of what was going on, even though I didn’t know this line was any kind of reference, I loved it. It was just so… EVIL.

    Yeah, I’m a contiuity-person myself as well! :)
And I agree with star*naming about that she was just in this “bored now” mood which is very baaaad for everyone else around. Espcially for evil stupid guys like Warren. :)

I am a huge fan of how all this Willow characterization in Doppelgangland came into play in the whole Dark Witch Willow Arc. I got severe chills when she said “Bored Now” I was almost in tears from how creepy it was that we knew this about her all along pretty much.

It was in the episode “the Wish”, (that one where Willow and Xander are both vampires because of Cordelia’s vengance wish) that Willow had “bored now” as a catch-phrase. She did say it after that in Doppelgangland also, but only once or twice.

Willow definitely wasn’t mimicking her vamp self, as she was never present when Vamp-Willow used that sentence.
It’s also interesting to see what motivations vampires have to be evil :
    - Spike is evil just for the fun of it
    - Angelus, for the sake of evil (and the art of it)
    - and vamp-Willow, because she’s bored. Now that’s a cheery thought. Especially when you’re a teacher.
