Joss Whedon and singer Angie Hart wrote the song at the beginning of the episode 7.07 Conversations With Dead People. The song is called ‘Blue’ and Angie Hart sings the main vocals. This is singer Angie’s third appearance on the show: she was previously in 4.01 The Freshman and 2.19 I Only Have Eyes For You singing with her band Splendid, and we heard her song ‘Tomorrow We’ll Wake’ in 5.17 Forever. She also played Lucy in an episode of Firefly. Angie’s (now ex) husband is Jesse Tobias, who fronted the band Splendid. He helped Joss to write some of the music for 6.07 Once More, With Feeling. The lyrics of ‘Blue’ are:
