In 1.17 Eternity, Angel says about Cordy’s play:
“I’ve been to Hell but that was so much worse”.
He’s referring to 2.22 Becoming (Part Two), in which Buffy sent him to hell to save the world.

I think in I fall to pieces, Angel also mentions his trip to hell “Actually in hell you tend to know a lot of the people”. Also in Deep Down Angel mentions that he has perspective because of his 100 years in hell compared to his 3 months under the sea.
