In 4.08 Pangs, Buffy says,
“And Xander always tries to avoid all of his family gatherings.”
We saw this for the first time in 3.10 Amends, when Xander slept outside at Christmas to avoid his family’s arguments.

The scene of him sleeping outside was a big “aaaw” moment. I feel bad for him :-(
