The name Aud is still around up here. Still around, but not exactly a popular name. Only 254 bearers in a population of 9 million - yet beating all the female names from Buffy except Tara and Joyce. (stats from the Statistics Sweden website http://www.scb.se)

Aud does not rhyme with odd. closest way to describe it for an english-speaker would be ow-d. Os as in “ow, my balls”. Which btw, is also a correct pronounciation, based on english spelling rules, for Aud.

Anyway I agree that they don’t pronounce it to rhyme with ‘odd’, but I think it probably depends on what accent you’re listening with.
To me, it sounds like they’re saying ‘awed’, rhyming with board and lord and gored. But I can’t speak for non-Australians.
