Anya is attacked by D’Hoffryn’s demons in 7.06 Him and 7.15 Get It Done, because she chose to leave D’Hoffryn’s group of vengeance demons and become human again in 7.05 Selfless.

anya didnt actually choose to become human again…for the second time, d’hoffryn kicks her out

Anya made the choice - when D’Hoffrynn saus she has the choice Anya says “I want to take it back”.
She knew that this could lead to her death but instead D’Hofrynn killed Halfrek and Anya became human.

Yeah, but she didn’t make the choice to become human again, she made the choice to die. But with D’Hoffryn killing Halfrek in her place, she became human again.
Which leads me to wonder why D’Hoffryn wouldn’t just kill her then and there, especially when he was going to send assassins after her later. Either way, he wanted her dead!

I wonder why D-Hoff bothered to send assassins at all, since he knew that Anya was goign to die in Chosen. He said something along the lines of, “All in good time. From beneath you it devours.”

I don’t think he knew she was going to die. He just knew she might die, because of what was beneath them and how it wanted to devour.
