And in 3.08 Lover’s walk he reads Sartre’s La Nausée in the original language, which I suppose is a stronger indication of him speaking fluent French than the few words spoken in Belonging.

And hi, by the way. :) I’m new and all. And English isn’t my native language (I’m from Sweden), so please correct me when I’m wrong. ^^

We also see him speaking Latin on several occasions.

He speaks Chinese in 1.10 “Parting Gifts”

That is rather consistent with all the places he’s visited. Especially since Angelus always took such pains to get to know his victims. Quite the contrary of Spike, who apparently spent years in China and Italy without being able to pronounce or understand a single word ! (oh, sorry. I think he knows “strada” and “presto”).

Wow, Angel takes pains to learn a foreign language so he can taunt his victims even more and make the torture worse before killing them. How heroic of him.

  6. Mel on April 20th, 2008 at 3:21 pm

Its not that it’s heroic. I think that its more that Angelus was more of a bastard than Spike was and probably seen his kills as art.

Where Spike would just kill someone for their blood to feed, as most vampires would do, there were some, Drusilla being the most prominant, that Angelus wasnt happy just killing and turning, he actually felt he had to drive her insane and torture her before doing so.

Angelus probably did see what he was doing as art in some way.

There was also another reference in Amends where The First in the guise of another of his vistims said Angelus had arranged his children in bed, like they were sleeping, much the same as he did for Jenny.

Angelus did not just get off on the kill…..he enjoyed the foreplay (for better choice of words) and the aftermath emotions of his kills too.

I know, I was being sarcastic!

I get that you were being sarcastic…..I just misread the sarcasm (which is easy to do when you are typing messages)

    Sorry Sad!
