Amanda was a tall, thin, dark haired school mate of Dawn’s who first appeared in 7.04 Help when she asked Buffy’s advice as a school counsellor. Amanda was revealed to be a potential Slayer (discovered in the episode 7.12 Potential), and she joined the other Slayers-in-training. She was killed in the final fight between the First’s Army and the Slayers in 7.22 Chosen.

I’m glad someone like Amanda turned out to be a Potential. She was different to the others like Faith/Buffy and Kendra in that she wasn’t a very confident or outgoing person, but she certainly came through in the end and really showed how anyone can be pwerful and make a difference (well, you know, until she died ;o)

I was so upset that Amanda died, she was one potential that wasn’t completely annoying, Rona and Vi being the only others. Also, it would have been cool for one of Dawn’s friends to join the gang, so she could have someone her own age to hang out with afterwards.

Her death was sad, but I would have rather seen her die than some of the other potentials (although I be alone for being glad that Kennedy survived.)

I can’t honestly say I thought she was Slayer material after this ep, but the following conversation made med jump a little:
“BUFFY
You’ve got to stick up for yourself.
Let this bully know that you won’t

AMANDA
I’m glad you said that.
BUFFY
Well, it’s true.
AMANDA
(quietly)
Well, ’cause that’s what I did.
stood up for myself.

Buffy is stunned. This little hound-dog girl heat the guy up?
BUFFY

AMANDA

I think this is a goof but when Dawn gets out the window & is heading down the street she bumps into Amanda who says she was at the school & she was going to Buffy(’s house) because there was a Vampire there (at the school) but later on when Dawn realizes that the spell went through the door she says Amanda was the other side, how could she have been on the other side when she was at the school & was only going to Buffys house that time when Dawn met her?
